STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo., July 1 (Our Colorado Times) — A bear was captured on surveillance video inside a parked truck in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, after Andy Kerrigan opened the vehicle and found the animal sitting in the front seat.
Kerrigan told The New York Times he was “astonished, surprised” and said the bear was “sitting shotgun eating my lunch” when he encountered it near a residential building on Clubhouse Drive on June 23.
He said he used a wooden plank or 2×4 from the truck bed to make noise and push the bear out. The footage recorded by Justin E. Pickar shows the bear leaving without further incident.
Pickar, who captured the video, told Storyful he was “scared at first” and then laughed once he realized Kerrigan was okay. Kerrigan said he believed the bear may have pushed the window down as it climbed in.
