INGLEWOOD, Calif., June 26 (Our Los Angeles) — The United States men’s national team lost to Türkiye 3-2 in Los Angeles on a late Kaan Ayhan goal, but the defeat did not change the Americans’ path: they had already won Group D and will face Bosnia and Herzegovina in the round of 32 on July 1.

According to FIFA’s official match report, Auston Trusty and Sebastian Berhalter scored for the U.S. Türkiye answered with goals from Arda Güler and Barış Alper Yılmaz before Ayhan scored the winner in stoppage time.

The match drew 70,492 at SoFi Stadium, according to the official report. The U.S. had already secured first place in the group with wins over Paraguay and Australia.

FIFA’s schedule lists Bosnia and Herzegovina as the Americans’ next opponent in the knockout round. The round-of-32 match is set for July 1.
