BAHRAIN, June 27 (World Daily Times) — Bahrain said on Saturday that Iranian drones entered its territory, prompting condemnations from the Gulf Cooperation Council and several neighboring Arab states that said the attack threatened regional security and peace efforts.
Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry called the strike a “flagrant threat” to the kingdom’s security. In a statement cited by Gulf media, the ministry said the Iranian regime’s continued attacks placed “the sole responsibility” on Tehran for undermining peace efforts.
Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi also condemned the attack, calling it “treacherous” and saying it would undermine efforts to preserve peace.
Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry said the strikes were “a dangerous undermining of endeavors for peace and stability” and a threat to the security of the region. The United Arab Emirates said it stood by Bahrain and condemned the attack, while Saudi Arabia and Qatar said the strikes violated Bahrain’s sovereignty and international law.
In a separate statement, Gulf foreign ministers meeting in Bahrain said Iran was “fully” accountable and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities. Bahrain also said the attack violated commitments under an “Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding” it said was signed on June 17, 2026.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said on state-run television that it had targeted several locations “of the U.S. terrorist army in the region.”
