UNION, SOUTH CAROLINA, June 25 (Nationwide Times) — Three Wendy’s employees in Union, South Carolina, were charged after police said a customer’s drive-thru meal was taken from the trash and spat on before it was served again at the North Duncan Bypass restaurant.

Union police said the complaint started after the customer objected to her first order and staff offered to remake it. The alleged tampering happened before the food was handed back, according to the police account reported by news outlets.

Fox News identified the employees as Aaliyah Shuntai Sanders, Trinity Lashell Rice and Shadela Crystal Holley. The report said all three were charged with tampering with a human drug product or food item.

Published reports differed on the exact date of the incident, with one account placing it on May 30 and another on May 31. Audacy, citing Union police, reported that Sanders and Rice were arrested and that the restaurant disciplined a third employee.
