WASHINGTON, June 25 (DC Times Online) — The Lincoln Memorial’s long-hidden undercroft in Washington will open to the public on June 25, 2026, giving visitors timed access to a 15,000-square-foot exhibit space beneath the monument for the first time, the National Park Service said.

The park service said the undercroft has been closed since the memorial opened in 1922. The new space will feature interactive exhibits and multimedia presentations on the memorial’s construction and its place in American history and civil rights.

Admission will be free, but visitors will need timed-entry tickets. Advance reservations are available through Recreation.gov or by calling 877-444-6777, and the NPS said online reservations include a $1 service fee.

Same-day tickets will be distributed beginning at 8:45 a.m. at the Korean War Veterans Memorial kiosk on Daniel Chester French Drive, just south of the Lincoln Memorial, according to the park service. The NPS said the project is funded in partnership with the National Park Foundation.
